media. As a professional editor, she tailored her skills to help writers of all different
backgrounds and with different stories to tell. She takes a deeply empathetic approach to
helping students develop and hone their personal statements, elevating their unique voices and
bringing her eye for good grammar and engaging prose.

A history PhD candidate and student instructor at UC Berkeley, Alex also brings her experience131
helping undergraduates sharpen their critical-thinking and argumentative-writing skills to the
application process, empowering students to write passionately and authentically about their
educational goals.

Beyond her historical research, Alex loves reading about architecture and design, and learning
to cook new things. She is also an American Horticulturalist Society member and makes it a
point to find a botanical garden in every new place she visits.
Alex is available to work with students virtually.
