Andrea Bufka brings writing expertise and a love of learning to her work as an educational consultant. She sees herself as a college essay coach, providing guidance and support throughout the college essay writing process. Andrea works with students virtually as well as in-person at our Bethesda, MD, Washington, DC, and McLean, VA offices.
Andrea believes that anyone can write well and has always enjoyed helping others with their writing. She has been a writing tutor at the high school and graduate school level. As a classical musician who began college as a double-degree in music performance and English at the Eastman School of Music and the University of Rochester, Andrea has a special interest in finding the right fit in a school for students with an arts focus.
Fluent in Italian, Andrea also studied Latin and French. She has worked in the nonprofit field for many years and, most recently, has managed the family philanthropy program at a leading association.
Andrea volunteers her writing and nonprofit knowledge to the Unfunded List, providing feedback to nonprofits on grant applications. She is also a volunteer writing tutor for the Posse Foundation and can be found gardening or writing her first novel in her free time.
