Ellie Koo joined Marks Education Test Prep Tutoring in 2019. A test prep tutoring career that spans over a decade, Ellie has helped students in the U.S. and abroad on their path to academic success. Her attentive teaching style has helped students switch gears from passive learning to approaching new topics with the mindset of identifying what they can do to fully make that knowledge their own. With each session, students hone effective study skills to tackle not only schoolwork and test prep but also anything they desire to learn.
Students who eagerly anticipate a test are a rare find. For those so inclined, Ellie specializes in fine-tuning test-taking strategies to help them inch closer to their goals. But for the majority of students who are test-averse, she aims to shift their perspective of tests towards the positive. She tailors study plans to affirm at each step that it can be done, so that come test day, the confidence of being prepared exceeds any anxiety.
Ellie grew up in Virginia and attended W.T. Woodson High School. She scored a 1600 on the SAT and was an American Academy of Achievement Salute to Excellence Program Honor Student. She went on to study East Asian languages at universities in South Korea and China and earned a B.A. in Economics from Penn State University.
