Ian specializes in
Ian Perez has been tutoring and teaching the SAT, ACT, Chemistry, Physics, Biology and many levels of Math since 2007. His warm, patient, and effective teaching style has earned him kudos from many parents and students.
Ian first discovered his passion for teaching as a tutor of chemistry at the University of South Florida, where he majored in Chemistry. Students found his down-to-earth style of teaching relatable and he was able to reach even the most diffident learners. By tailoring his pace, affect, and teaching style to fit the needs of each individual student, he helped students tap into previously undiscovered sources of strength and achieve goals that were sometimes surprising, even to them.
After moving to New York in 2009, Ian worked as a math teacher in Brooklyn, where he was invited to be a consultant on the development of the Common Core curriculum. Since 2009, he has tutored the exams associated with college admissions and taught the SAT and ACT in workshops and one-on-one.
His talent for catering to diverse types of learners served him well, as he has successfully tutored students ranging from very advanced students to those with attention disorders and those for whom English is not a first language.
