Peter is an instructor focusing on the ACT, SAT, and SSAT. He also works with students in English, US History, World History, and Government. He teaches subject matter in a way that makes the material interesting and accessible to students of all levels. He believes in creating a supportive and friendly learning environment that facilitates students’ academic growth and lays the groundwork for future success.
Peter attended Providence College where he majored in History and minored in Political Science. He also received an MA in History from the University of Utah, where he served as a teaching assistant in US and World History courses and was a recipient of the Foreign Language Area Studies grant.
After moving to the Washington DC area in 2010, Peter taught English to second language learners at the Washington University of Virginia and served as a reading instructor for the Institute for Reading Development. He also worked for a supplemental education service that provided reading and math instruction to elementary school students in Arlington and Fairfax Counties.
Peter enjoys tutoring because it provides an opportunity for students to build confidence incrementally with each session, as they work to succeed by overcoming obstacles in areas of difficulty. He focuses on guiding students through the process of learning and critical thinking, with the goal of helping them develop their talents and capabilities to their fullest potential.
