In our final third part, Sara Plunkett talks about her favorite meditation app, Stop, Breathe & Think.
Stop, Breathe & Think is a great app for beginning or continuing your meditation practice, especially for those who need a bit of direction. Its user-friendly interface will guide you to the perfect meditation for the given moment. In addition to guided meditations, you can also select from features such as guided yoga, acupressure, meditation timer, and breathing timer.
When you launch the app, the homepage will invite you to start by pausing for 10 seconds to consider how you feel physically, mentally, and emotionally in the moment. You will then be prompted to select up to five current emotions, which allows the app will provide you with a tailored list of about 5 guided meditations and 1 activity to select from. However, you are not restricted to those options and can browse through the entire content by category if you choose. Most meditations are offered with either a male or female voice (some in Spanish) and are generally 5-7 minutes long (ranging from 1-15 minutes). Upon completion of the meditation, you will again be invited to record your physical, mental, and mental states. Stop, Breathe, Think tracks your meditation streaks, meditation time, and top emotions by week, month, or in total on the “My Progress” page. If you need a little extra incentive to maintain their mindfulness practice, you can earn up to 49 stickers for various meditative feats.
