Since he joined Marks Education in 2006, Dan has worked with hundreds of students, helping them gain confidence, improve core academic skills, and achieve stellar test results. His warm approach helps students learn and master academic material and perform to their potential, whether it’s on a classroom quiz or the SAT.
Dan was born in Vancouver, Canada but grew up in the Washington, DC area and attended Montgomery County Public Schools, where as a senior he was recognized as a National Merit Semi-Finalist. He attended James Madison University in Virginia on a Presidential Chemistry Scholarship. While earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, he performed undergraduate research in Environmental and Analytical Chemistry.
With a strong analytical background and passion for all things STEM, Dan tutors most high school Math and Science courses through the AP level. He also tutors students for several different standardized tests including the SAT, ACT, SSAT and for college students and young adults looking to apply to graduate or business school, the GRE and GMAT.
In late 2020, after spending almost 15 years living and working in the DMV, Dan, his wife, and two young children picked up and moved to sunny Southern California where they currently enjoy living. Whether running, bike riding by the ocean, coaching youth baseball, or trying to surf (not very well!), Dan enjoys all things outdoors as well as checking out as many of the iconic music and sports venues around LA/SoCal as possible.
Dan has worked with students all over the country and internationally and is available to work virtually with students anywhere.
