Ellie Shaker joined the Marks Education team in 2023. She tutors students in ACT and SAT preparation as well as a range of Math and English classes. Ellie is committed to tailoring her approach to meet the unique needs of each student, ensuring that they not only grasp the material but also develop a deep-rooted sense of confidence in their abilities. One of the cornerstones of Ellie’s tutoring philosophy is the emphasis on open communication. By building strong rapport and trust, she aims to create a space where questions are welcomed, challenges are tackled collaboratively, and successes are celebrated together.

Ellie’s diverse upbringing took place in various corners of Latin America, where she resided in four Spanish-speaking countries. Eventually, she transitioned back to the United States, settling in Virginia where she attended Washington-Liberty High School. Ellie graduated from Boston College, where she studied Mathematics and English Literature and Language.

Beyond academics, Ellie enriched her college experience by becoming an integral part of the school’s long-established gospel choir. Ellie’s love for music extends beyond the choir setting; she is also a versatile musician, proficient in playing three different instruments. Outside of her academic and musical pursuits, Ellie finds solace and entertainment in a variety of interests. In her free time, you might find her engrossed in the captivating narratives of true crime documentaries, exploring the intricate plotlines of international dramas, or indulging in guilty pleasures through the lens of reality TV.
