As a tutor with Marks Education since 2019, Michael has specialized in the humanities, helping students succeed in AP Literature and Composition, AP Micro and Macro Economics and AP US History. He is also available to support the development of academic and study skills in areas including Algebra 1, Geometry, Spanish, American & British Literature, AP Government and Politics, SAT, PSAT, ACT, SSAT, ISEE, and HSPT. He enjoys meeting students with learning differences and unique interests. He views all instruction as fundamentally collaborative, and uses this approach to empower high-achieving students and foreground the social side of learning.

Michael studied English Language and Literature at the University of Maryland, College Park, where he earned his B.A., and Georgetown University, where he earned his M.A. and wrote a Masters thesis on the literature of financial crises.

As a writing tutor at four different universities, including NYU Shanghai, Michael has guided writers from diverse educational and language backgrounds through every step of the writing process. He also taught English, U.S., and World History to middle and high school students at the independent Fusion Academy in Brooklyn. As a tutor and teacher in a broad range of settings, Michael has developed a passion for assisting students with study skills and critical thinking.
