The New Year is almost here and we can’t believe it! Another great year at Marks Education has gone by. This year, we worked with hundreds of students and families from all over the world at our offices in Bethesda, McLean, or Washington, D.C., or through Zoom, and we couldn’t wait to share their results and some advice for the future. 2023 Success Stories
In the course of 2023, we’ve had the privilege of partnering with an impressive cohort of students. Alongside helping them write great college essays, we pride ourselves in helping them choose schools that best fit.

In 2023, the game changer was the Supreme Court’s landmark decision on affirmative action. This decision had far-reaching consequences for college admissions, and we’re keeping a watchful eye on its evolving impact and what it means for you.
Many schools have altered or introduced new essay prompts to better focus on addressing the question of community background. We advise students to spend time thinking about where they come from and what their community means to them. Colleges also value applicants who genuinely embrace community engagement and service.
