What is the structure of the SAT?
The digital SAT has two sections: Reading & Writing and Math.
Students have 64 minutes to complete the Reading & Writing section and 70 minutes to complete the math section. Totaling to a total test time of 2 hours and 14 minutes.
What to expect from the SAT Reading Section:
The Reading & Writing section presents short reading passages that are followed by multiple-choice questions. The questions are from one of four domains: craft and structure, information and ideas, standard English conventions, and the expression of ideas.
What to expect from the SAT Math Section:
The SAT Math Section focuses on Algebra, Advanced Math, Problem-Solving and Datta Analysis, and Geometry and Trigonometry. These are the areas of math that play the biggest role in college and career success.
Is Test Optional Right for you?
An increasing number of universities are switching to test-optional policies. While many colleges see this as a way to emphasize a more holistic approach to their admissions process, it can still be beneficial to submit test scores to elite colleges.
While there are many factors to consider as to whether or not you should submit test scores, and therefore we can’t give you a simple yes or no answer, we still discuss some major factors to consider in the following blogs.
